A UK Summer Seaside Wedding

UK seaside wedding | UK wedding planners

Back in May we had the absolute pleasure of planning a seaside wedding on Worthing pier. Mary and Jonny could not have been luckier with the weather as it was the hottest May bank holiday in history! We had beautiful blue calm seas, clear blue skies, the most amazing couple and a dream team of suppliers pulling everything together.

The brief was a laid-back luxury wedding set on the British coast at Worthing Pier. With a slight nod to the Art Deco era as that was the style of the wedding venue. The main theme brought in elements of the British seaside along with a few touches of Greecian holidays.

We began planning in January, so had 4 months to to do the full wedding planning. But Mary and Jonny knew what they liked and made quick decisions, which really helped the process. some couples prefer the time pressure as they have to make decision and cannot linger on anything for too long. Time can sometimes be your friend or your enemy. In this case it was the right amount of time to create what will always be one of my favourite weddings.

The wedding suppliers chosen all worked together seamlessly. With Jacaranda doing the catering, which featured cascading platters of Fruit de Mer. Mad Lilies creating some epic floral styling with a deconstructed arch, floral hoops and centre pieces that were so vibrant, all featuring an abundance of fresh foliage, a splash of white and a little blush peppered in for depth. Not to mention a bouquet to die for! Everything was set off by some incredible stationery from Betty Lou Designs. We had a blast coming up with the ideas for Mary and Jonny and they looked sensational on the day. The Sea Blue watercolour effects of the table names, set off in gold frames, the mussel shells for place names with gold calligraphy and the table plan that hung with bright blue ribbon from the deconstructed arch after it had been used for the ceremony. The piece de resistance for the stationery in my eyes was the menus! The ingredients were sketched, then printed on cotton, with the ends dip dyed blue. They really looked amazing! All of this was captured by the ever amazing Sophie Duckworth, who not only is a pleasure to work with and true professional, but her photos speak for themselves! The venue itself was dressed with pea light from Lighting with Intent, who created a great canopy across the room and dressed the pillars. A personal favourite for me was the surprise, bright blue neon light that the bride asked me to help organise for the groom. It was their surname and we hung it up for him to see when they re-entered the room for the wedding breakfast.

It was an absolute dream to plan this wedding, the process, the day and the couple themselves were all fantastic.
