Back in early July one of our lovely full wedding planning couples got married down in Southampton in the beautiful, stylish and brand new Southampton Harbour Hotel, overlooking the water in Ocean Village.
Their wedding was all about modern elegance. It featured a lot of white, with clean lines and a contemporary, luxury feel. There were pops or reds and berries to add colour and some luxurious copper details.
The weather on the day was incredible, an absolute scorcher and a wedding planners dream. It was even the day of the semi finals for the world cup, which we got through and the running joke of the day, was did they know and had they chosen the red and white theme on purpose (which the obviously had not!!).
The hotel is a fabulous location and the team were a pleasure to work with. It is a real luxury venue with a lot of light and modern furnishings. The main room is a real blank canvas to create a real stylish wedding.
Colin and Nok got married on site over looking the boats. With Nok in white and her four bridesmaids in individual red dresses, they really stood out. The groom and his groomsmen all wore navy suits with a pop of red to match the girls.
The wedding breakfasts main feature was the beautiful floral displays by Mad Lilies. They chose large displays on copper plinths for each table. The brief was they had to be huge and create an impact. Which they certainly did. Ali and her team combined beautiful red and white peonies with a lot of seasonal foliage. The arrangements also featured pink o'hara roses, four season roses, hearts roses, snapdragon, blush astilbe, scented stocks and lysinimachia. the overall look was beautiful.
The top table featured bud vases with an assortment of the flowers across the top. In the base of each copper plinth sat the table name. We had these created specially for the couple. The tables were named after boats Colin had owned, so each table name was a small yacht with the name of the boat hand calligraphed in copper, by Judy Broad on the sails. They really stood out and were a beautiful personal touch. At Bluebird Creative we our wedding planners love to add those personal touches to our weddings.
