You've probably asked yourself, what on earth is actually happening at that point in the day? But don't worry, in this weeks YouTube video, I'll be running you through all the the details so you can make sure everything is set up and ready to go!
What Happens The Morning Of The Wedding?
This is a frequently asked topic and I don't mean having your hair and make up done. I'm talking about set up. There is a lot to do on the morning of your wedding, and that differs depending on what details you have added to your day. By going through this part of your day, it will help you decide if you've got it covered, or if you require a little extra help.
Timing Is Everything
When couples book me, I will have liaised with all of the suppliers prior to the day to make sure everyone's timings marry up and I iron out any areas where there is overlap or may be tricky. On the day I am there first thing with a list of everything that needs to be accomplished and to ensure everyone is happy, arriving on time and everything is generally flowing well.
There is a lot to consider when you might have lighting, florists, crockery or glassware being hired, stationary, signage, caterers, entertainment, ceremony set up... the list goes on. Its making sure that each supplier can come in, do their job and move out before the next. As an example, lighting is normally one of the first things to be done. Tables can't be laid until the florist has been in and set up their displays or centre pieces. The cake might need setting up along with any styling. Maybe you have some welcome signage for when guests arrive and you might not want your table plan to be on display until later in the day and after the ceremony.
Who Is Taking Care of what?
Your venue may have one main space, in which case, you won't be able to set up tables for the wedding breakfast until the ceremony part is complete. So there will be a turn around in the middle to transform the space for the next part of your wedding.
As you can see, there is quite a lot going on in the morning and you need to make sure that there is someone looking out for all the details. There are lots of little details which you would assume would be taken care of, or would happen automatically, but that isn't always the case. There are always last minute things that are thrown up and you need someone who will look out for those and get on to them without causing any stress to come your way.
Do We Help With Styling? 100% YES!
One of the questions I am always asked in an enquiry call is 'Can you help with the styling set up?' Absolutely, YES! It is 100% part of what we do, and what we love doing, its in the job remit. We don't just make sure timings are being met, we are there carrying flower urns to another room for repurposing, we are cutting stationary to fit frames, we are tying napkins in knots, whatever you have chosen, we are hands on and make it happen.
I hope this has helped, and empowered you to make the right decision and not stressed you out further!
Have a great week.
Happy Planning!
